Solitude’s Symphony
by Shubham Baid
A bed of roses skins a cot of thorns
Frenemies exist beneath where trust adorns
None more reliable than self
Your prudence -the best ally when you need help
Alone can neither cheat nor be cheated
Whether victory or loss, it’s self-greeted
Either scenario is entirely your share
You only pat your back or care in despair
Solo, you follow your instinct and gut
It is either no or yes sans if and but
No scope for shared blame
Brickbat is yours, and so is the fame
Individuals not always conquer frontiers.
But aren’t victims of betrayal forming barriers
More alert when you are single
More cautious and wise when you mingle
Teams do derail
Individuals do fail
Both have their con and pro
But alone is how we mostly go
