She has been the recipient of project grants, both studio-based and curatorial. She also led and assisted curatorial projects at Bronx Museum of the Arts, Chase Young Gallery, and the 405 Project. Thais Glazman's practice explores the landscapes of memory as it relates to history, time and place. Utilizing found materials, family photographs, archival media, and social research, Glazman explores the aesthetic gestures of excavation. Unearthing personal histories, cultural practices, oral traditions, and symbolism illuminate the intimate and distinct experience of migration and heritage. By bringing the past to the forefront of her work, she aims to evoke its eternal dance with the present as well as its influence on perception, memory, and relationships to self.
