On Thin Ice; Nuclear Family; Walk the Line

by Chet Davis

“My art has always been a way for me to augment strong, personal feelings about my observations and experiences going through this thing called life. Creating works of art that focus on common human interactions that tie us together has been my dominant subject matter. My paintings and drawings have an expressive figurative focus, capturing a gestural, symbolic “meaning of the moment”. The figures in my work are often portrayed in a decisive, emotional minute that will have lasting impact on the human condition.”

Chet Davis has been an artist, art educator, and art advocate in Central Pennsylvania for over fifty years. He earned his BS in art education from Penn State and a MA from the Hartford Art School and has taught art at all levels, elementary through university, in public and private institutions.
