“I’m Tatyana Overton, a 17-year-old artist from Cedar Hill, Texas, with a deep passion for creating art that explores complex emotions and relationships. My submission, “Suffering,” is a digital piece made in Procreate that captures the intensity of two people so entwined with each other that they’re unaware of the pain it causes. I aimed to convey both the beauty and tension of a relationship where boundaries blur, exploring how love and attachment can unintentionally lead to harm. Through detailed expressions and body language, I wanted to reflect the closeness and underlying strain that can exist in relationships, inviting viewers to reflect on these complex emotional layers.”
